GOAL: The goal of this project was to develop a magazine issue based off of the UN 17 Sustainability goals. Each goal needed to be explained and then one goal was to be explored further with a feature article inspired by the goal.
STRATEGY: I chose goal #8 “Decent Work and Economic Growth” for my feature article. I started by compiling as much desk research as I could in order to get a feel of how this goal is represented in Calgary. I then interviewed Denise Peori-Chaisson who works aiding people in finding employment in the city. She was able to provide me with many insights and other resources. Based off of my research and speaking with Denise I landed on the topic “Are people blocking themselves from finding work in Calgary” this topic looks into the ways many people apply for jobs and discusses that how you apply for jobs can play a major role when you are searching for employment.
